Virtual Clarinet Academy is seeking Virtual Teaching Assistant(s) for Fall 2020 Group Classes. Classes will run between September 14th and October 23rd, 2020. This is a paid position at $15/class.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Zoom classes (admitting class members, facilitating questions from students)

  • Note-taking during class and post-class note formatting

  • Option to be in office hours

  • May be asked to assist with teaching responsibilities during class

 

Requirements

  • Earned or pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance or Music Education

  • Available each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday from 7 - 8pm EDT

  • Available for a training session prior to class start date 

  • Detail oriented and able to work independently

  • Enthusiasm to learn about clarinet pedagogy

  • Fluency in English

  • Ability to pass a background check

 

Preferred, but not required:

  • At least 2 years experience teaching clarinet (private lessons, band camp, teaching assistant, etc)

  • Junior or Senior status in undergrad or completion of Bachelor’s degree

 

Compensation

  • Paid position at $15/class 

  • Group classroom management experience

    • Phone recordings acceptable as long as they are good quality

  • One recommendation that attests to your character and teaching experience (can be from studio professor, teaching colleague, etc.)

This is a consultant position with Level Up Your Playing, LLC that will run between September 14th and October 23rd.

 

Potential for longer term work dependent on VCA need and candidate’s performance.
